Hermes Mail

Hermes Mail is a private, personal-use Gmail assistant operated by the owner of clankychiefjohn.club for their own mailbox. It is not a public email service and does not accept public sign-ups.

Purpose

The application identifies relevant email, summarizes messages, and provides low-noise briefings, urgent alerts, and unsubscribe suggestions through Telegram.

Authorized actions and limits

With the owner's approval, successfully processed new inbox messages are marked as read. Existing inbox backlog is not bulk-marked read. The application suggests potential unwanted mailing-list subscriptions, but contacts an unsubscribe endpoint only after the owner approves that specific subscription. Suspected phishing, scam, or ambiguous senders are not contacted.

The application uses Google's Gmail modify permission to mark messages as read. Google bundles broader powers, including sending, into this permission; application code and policy prohibit sending, forwarding, Gmail draft creation, deletion, archiving, and mailbox-setting changes. These are application restrictions, not a provider-enforced read-only scope.

This website describes the application only. It does not provide a mailbox login or display email.
